4 Companies Offering Non-Toxic Face Paints For Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner, and as kids across the country fantasize about dressing up as witches, ghosts, and superheroes, parents are plotting how they will make those costumes come to life with minimal effort and expense. For DIY-minded families, face paints can help achieve the desired effect for many costumes on a budget. However, because face paints are not intended to be ingested, under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, they (and their non-color additive ingredients) do not require FDA approval before they go to market. The result is that many face paints sold for children contain known carcinogens and other toxins that can be accidentally ingested or absorbed through your child’s skin.
