Five Quick Driving Tips That May Save Your Teen's Life
When teens start to drive, parents can get overwhelmed with how to supervise them. A new, five item check list, designed as a quick primer, aims to help by encouraging parents and teens to talk easily about good driving skills.
“When parents model and reinforce safe driving habits, they equip their teens with the skills to safely navigate the roadways for life,” Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx said in a statement. “Parents need to take the time to talk with their kids about behaviors that will keep them safe, and those that create greater risk.”
The “ 5 to Drive” campaign was announced earlier this week by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in recognition of National Teen Driver Safety Week, which this year occurs October 18 to 24.
