FBI Hacks Into San Bernardino Shooter's IPhone Without Apple's Help, Drops Case

The federal government told a judge Monday that it has successfully hacked into the iPhone that belonged to San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook, a week after it asked the court for more time to break into the device on its own. If approved, the filing marks the end of the FBI's efforts to force Apple to help it hack into the phone; numerous similar requests remain outstanding in other cases around the country.
