Like most of America, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the political rise of Donald Trump. My connection to Trump is more personal than most and dates back over ten years. My good friend and current Managing Director of DMS Offshore Investment Services, Kate Bohner, was also the co-author of Trump’s 1997 book The Art of the Comeback. Throughout the process of writing the book, she got to know him personally and often regaled me with stories of what “The Donald” was actually like. The private Trump is more complex and nuanced than the image that is presented to the public. He is far more cunning and methodical than most people believe.
