Is Job Hopping Really A Bad Thing?

Last year Forbes published an article titled Employees Who Stay In Companies Longer Than Two Years Get Paid 50% Less. The article stated that on average the raise an employee could have expected to receive in 2014 was around 3% but the average raise an employee receives for switching jobs is between 10-20%. So this forces us to ask an interesting question.
